Friday's Junior Report

The Russian selects squad of juniors touring Canada are 0 for 3 in the six-game series after a 5-2 loss to the Ontario Hockey League selects on Thursday night in Barrie. Jeff Skinner of the Kitchener Rangers scored twice on the power play.

Goals by Maxim Kitsyn and Maxim Karpov gave the Russian selects a 2-1 lead 5 minutes 44 seconds into the second period before Canada came back with goals by Taylor Beck (Guelph Storm) and Greg Nemisz (Windsor Spitfires) to lead the rest of the way. A full game story is here.

Game 4 of the series is Monday in Windsor. Games 5 and 6, featuring the Russian Selects and the Western Hockey League selects, will be next Wednesday and Thursday in British Columbia (Victoria and Kelowna). The box score is here.
