A Few Tips and One Great Pie

Some quick hits before the Saturday afternoon hockey games begin.

***If you do not get the Fox College Sports channels, CBS College Sports channel or the Big Ten Network, you have to get your cable company or satellite provider to add them to the lineup.

With just two National Hockey League games on Friday night, I needed some more games on the TV to flip to. Fox College Sports had Alaska-Michigan, CBS College Sports had Michigan State-Notre Dame and the Big Ten Network had North Dakota-Minnesota. With those in the mix along with Washington-Toronto and Nashville-Calgary, nothing but pucks, my friend.

A good night at the lounge.

***Frank Pepe's pizza on Central Avenue in Yonkers, N.Y., is the place to go, if you have some time on your hands. It's a branch of the Frank Pepe's in New Haven. The crowds down in the old neighborhood in New Haven forced them to open the Spot, a joint for the overflow. Same pizza in the Spot as in the main restaurant, so there are lines to both.

Next came Pepe's expansion across Connecticut, to Fairfield, Manchester and the Mohegan Sun resort. And now Frank Pepe is in Yonkers, where the room is jumping as soon as the doors open at 11:30 am. The fresh clam pie, no sauce or cheese, is THE WAY TO GO.

And if you cannot wait to get in, order ahead and take the pie back home. Sometimes the pie has a way of disappearing once you get it back to the car. We try to get the pies back to the Lounge. Try, I said, try.
