Devils Pregame Show Sends a Message
Ken Daneyko, the former New Jersey Devil, is comfortable in his role as a commentator on the Devils' television broadcasts on MSG-Plus.
At 6:50 pm Eastern, Daneyko told the Maven, Stan Fischler, that if he or Scott Stevens were still in the Devils' locker room, the names of Jeff Carter and Mike Richards would be on the list.
Here, again, is the hit in question. The hit on the Devils' Anssi Salmela came Monday night in the Flyers' 3-2 victory at home.
Scott Stevens, Daneyko assured viewers, would have been in the room right now saying that Carter and Richards would have to answer for their actions. Daneyko ruled Carter's hit as dirty, and the Maven agreed.
We shall see tonight how the current Devils respond to the Carter hit. (Zach Parise is not in the lineup, by the way. Another Olympian forced to sit out the Games? We shall see.) Flyers at Devils. Philly meets Newark. Omegas visit Delta. The puck has been dropped.
