Colin Campbell, Pay Your Tab

This one goes out to Colin Campbell, who says he cannot find a way to make the current rules stop this season's run on blind side hits to the head. I just read today in the Boston Globe that Campbell will be in Boston on Thursday when the Pittsburgh Penguins visit the Bruins. Why? If he sees another blind-side hit to the head like the one Matt Cooke put on Marc Savard, he's not going to say boo about it.

Why not spend the day watching the game with Savard, explaining to him why the person in charge of discipline cannot seem to impose any.

Concussions wear a player down, now and after they retire. These fractions lost to a blind-side hit add up, but not to Campbell, who cannot do the math on this situation. He nods toward the rulebook and says his hands are tied.

There's a leader with vision for you. Nice job, Colin. Your time is up. Pay your tab.
