Friday Morning Coffee and a Roll

The Kings/Lightning game was a joy to watch, even if you were on the East Coast and had to stay up late to watch. Plenty of end-to-end action. Hits in anger. Looks of contempt. In other words, just the same game one remembers playing in his parent's unfinished basement.

Rough concrete walls all around. Young boys with hockey sticks chasing the makeshift puck (sock roll) around the floor. And if your friend just happened to run into an exposed stud or concrete wall in the basement, which doubled as the Forum, Olympia, Stadium, Garden, Gardens or Square Garden, all the better. Toughened you up, a parent might say.
