I get a late start in the Lounge on Saturday. I am up early all week. I will ease into my day on Saturday.
It's great to let the day slide away gently, allowing the afternoon light to drip into the Lounge in time for me to get back to the hockey matters at hand. The afternoon starts with a pot of Joe, a few leftover slices of a white clam pie and the replay of the Minnesota-Duluth/North Dakota game from Friday night.
When that's over, it's time for the last half of the movie "Casino."
Tried watching a little college football, but neither Oregon nor Utah look like themselves, what with the special uniforms or issues they are trying to promote. Same for the Army/Air Force game earlier this afternoon. Army looked bland, which was a treat when compared with the cartoon uniforms the Falcons were wearing.
More coffee, another slice, less college football please.
And with that we get to the picks to click in the Lounge tonight. St. Louis is a pleasant surprise to me, so the Blues/Bruins gets the big screen treatment (NESN feed from Center Ice) at 7 pm Eastern. Chicago at Atlanta (Center Ice) lands on the modestly sized monitor starting at 7.
At 10 Eastern, Detroit at Vancouver is the play on the modestly sized HD monitor (CBC feed on Center Ice) and Nashville at Los Angeles draws the big screen, a late add to Center Ice thanks to KCOP-TV in Los Angeles. A lot of live look-ins for the rest of the games and some drop-ins via Internet radio.
I may start slowly on Saturdays, but I am up even later. I'll be up when Daylight time ends and I gain an hour. I'll use that one wisely, too.
