On Tap Tonight: NHL and NCAA

The Lounge has the CBS College Sports channel, the Fox College Sports trio (FCS Pacific, FSC Central and FCS Atlantic), ESPNU and the Big Ten Network. And by New Year's Eve, Versus will have a national package of NCAA games. Tonight the entire investment pays off as college hockey is served alongside the NHL.

Let me just say that any action on the big screen has to be done by 10 pm Eastern. That is when the Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs visit the Denver Pioneers. That game is on FCS Atlantic, for those of you who get it. The feed will come from Root Sports Rocky Mountains (formerly Fox Sports Rocky Mountains).

The other college games of the evening are Cornell at Yale at 7:30 Eastern on CBS College Sports. Western Michigan at Michigan (7:30 Eastern, FCS Pacific/Fox Sports Detroit) and North Dakota at Minnesota (8 Eastern, FCS Central/Fox Sports North).

Because of my deadline requirements, the Blackhawks/Lightning game (NHL Network) will be shown on the big HD screen starting at 7:30. The medium HD screen will toggle between Flames/Sabres (7:30, Center Ice/Sportsnet West), Capitals/Hurricanes (7, Center Ice/Comcast SportsNet Washington) and Canucks/Blues (8, Center Ice/Sportsnet Pacific). Canadiens/Senators and Avalanche/Stars will toggle on Internet radio. The iPhone will toggle the college games not involving the University of Denver.

Priorities, man, priorities.
