Two KO Punches Tonight

My quick picks to click as we get closer to a double scoop of elimination hockey tonight. Ottawa at New York. New Jersey at Florida.

I was not impressed with Florida's effort in overtime, where it looked like Kris Versteeg (32) was floating back to the net on defense as the Devils came in for Travis Zajac's game-winning goal. Conditioning? That's my theory, but I am in no shape to say I could have done better. Still, I think even a fat and slow man is allowed to raise an eyebrow on that play.

I know I picked the Panthers in 7 games before this series began, but I get the feeling that it's another night for the Devils, who are Petunia Puck's pick to click tonight. She doesn't like cats.

And I have to believe the Rangers are going to shove the Senators out of the picture. Chris Neil is coming, but he cannot beat the Rangers by himself, and it is hard to intimidate the Rangers when they have the lead.

Going hard to the net is the key for the Rangers. This perimeter play has to stop. Be direct and show a purpose.

Let's get ready to rumble.
