Luongo's Trouble Spot Exposed

During the playoffs last spring, Chicago's Patrick Kane did a little left to right move across the ice that dazzled Vancouver's Roberto Luongo. He stood. He watched. He missed the puck as Kane fired a memorable shot that left him open to one of Jeff Hale's more classic Tweets, this one coming in June during the draft.

"Luongo spotted at Canucks’ table still looking for Patrick Kane backhander."

Hale, who takes a few shifts here behind the Lounge bar, was on the mark for that one, breaking down a critical moment that led to the Canucks' ouster in the playoffs.

Well here is another weak spot in BobbyLoo's game.

Don't let him use the knob of his stick to stop a shot. Twice this weekend, first on Friday against Chicago and Sunday against Nashville, Luongo was his own worst enemy.

Shooters are now advised to put it stick-side and see if you can make Luongo flick the top of his stick like a table-top flipper to score one on himself.

Just wondering. Here at the Lounge, we are starting to look for goaltending flaws that will come up big during the playoff pool season. Spot any flaws? Send them on to the Lounge.
