Scott Walker Headed to Washington

The Carolina Hurricanes continue to ship players out of Raleigh. Right wing Scott Walker is going to the Washington Capitals, a Southeast Division rival. The Hurricanes, according to The Hockey News is getting a seventh-round pick and possibly more. The Lounge will keep you updated on this transaction.

Aaron Ward Traded to Anaheim

Yet another defenseman has been traded. The Carolina Hurricanes send defenseman Aaron Ward to the Anaheim Ducks. The Hurricanes will get goaltender Justin Pogge and a fourth-round pick in return.

Ward adds yet another sweater to his collection and another sticker on his suitcase.

Boston and Florida Swap Players

The defensemen Dennis Seidenberg and Matthew Bartkowski are now Boston Bruins. Going to the Florida Panthers are the forwards Craig Weller and Byron Bitz, along with a 2nd-round pick in a draft to be determined.

Seidenberg played for Germany at the Vancouver Games.

TSN's James Duthie points out that defensemen are on the move in the first few days of March. Look for more to be exchanged throughout the day.

Martin Skoula to New Jersey

The Pittsburgh Penguins moved defenseman Martin Skoula to the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday. Well, Wednesday is full of more moves for him as Toronto ships Skoula to the New Jersey Devils for a fifth-round pick in the June draft.

Skoula, who was projected to be a future star for the Colorado Avalanche, never reached that level and now joins a team in the Devils, who had a four-goal lead before giving up three goals in the third period and hanging on to a 4-3 victory at San Jose late Tuesday night.

Derek Morris Back to Phoenix

The well-traveled defenseman Derek Morris is on the move again, back to the Phoenix Coyotes. The Boston Bruins have moved him for a fourth-round pick in 2011. According to TSN, Morris has maintained a home in Arizona and will probably have an easy time moving back into the Valley of the Sun.

Trading Down to the Deadline

According to TSN, the Montreal Canadiens sent the forward Matt D'Agostini to the St. Louis Blues for the forward Aaron Palushaj. This deal took place at around 12:40 am Eastern.
