And in This Corner, the Toughest League Around

Yes, one league no one appears to be jumping to just yet during the NHL lockout is the LNAH, or the Ligue Nord-Américaine de Hockey.

During the last lockout, several NHLers punched the clock, and more than a few opponents, in the LNAH while waiting in vain for the 2004-05 regular season in the NHL to get underway.

Also in the league, you can usually find some former NHL prospect goaltenders who are from Quebec.

But whether the league has cleaned up its image a bit or a lot, you can still count on the rough stuff to get the crowd going in Quebec and in a pocket of southeastern Ontario.

The lineup of teams this season is as follows:

Trois-Rivières Caron et Guay
Saguenay Marquis
Cornwall RiverKings
Sorel-Tracy HC Carvena
Thetford Mines Isothermic
Rivière-du-Loup 3L
St-Georges de Beauce CoolFM

The season began late last week. Time to keep your head up.
